Meet our Founder & Board President, Jesse Coontz
Hi, I’m Jesse, a Mom of four, Moms On Target Founder, Executive Director, and Board President. Phew, that’s a lot of titles. Let’s add Mommy Chef Extraordinaire, Homeschooler, Breastfeeding Mama, Wife, and Peaceful Parenting Advocate to the mix, too!
Moms On Target really started when I became a mom myself for the first time. Growing up in a home plagued by poverty, neglect, abuse, and addiction, I had serious doubts about how I would manage motherhood.
I was SO blessed to have women who took me under their wings to show me the ropes. They invited me into their homes, taught me, poured into me, discipled me, and prayed for me.
I grew very determined to create a space for that to multiply and reach others. My heart and vision for this nonprofit have grown and evolved throughout the years and I’m in awe and amazed at all the ways God has shown up and continues to show up for me, my family, and for this organization.
My heart truly lies with moms from all walks of life, but I’m especially passionate about mentoring other moms who are working to break generational cycles of their own. I love to share my heart for Jesus and my belief that knowing and following Him makes taking aim as a mother not only easier but more joy-filled, too.
Jesse and her husband, Paul, are proud Akronites and parents to Abel, Hannah, Haven and Joanna. Jesse loves coffee, bookstores, orca whales, and donuts.
Admittedly, she doesn’t get a lot of alone time, but when she does, she spends it snuggled up with a good book, watching reruns of old tv shows, or filling her Amazon cart with things she won't actually buy. *Save for later* on repeat.

Julie Aronhalt - Play Squad Mentor
I’m a 33-year-old Christian, stay-at-home mama to two wonderful kiddos—Emersyn (4) and Weston (. We’re a homeschooling family, and I love creating a fun and faith-filled learning environment for them.
In my spare time, you’ll usually find me getting creative with crafts, tending to my plants, planning parties and little celebrations, or rearranging and decorating our home. I’m also part of a book club, so I always love a good read and great conversation!
Excited to connect with other moms who share similar values, encourage one another, and build sweet friendships for both us and our little ones! -
Emily Powell - MINI Play Squad Mentor
Hello! I’m Emily Powell, devoted wife to my wonderful husband, Matthew, and joyful new mom to our precious 1-year-old daughter, Georgia. I have a heart for ministry and love playing piano, having served on worship teams in the past. Our family enjoys our cozy homestead with chickens and dogs. I’m excited to serve as the leader of Mini Play Squad. I hope to secure a nurturing space for sharing motherhood joys, building friendships, and growing together. I can’t wait to start this journey with you!

Tara Seeman
I love all things Irish -except the alcohol! Gave that up in 2019. What can I say? We are REAL here! I remarried in 2020 to a world-champion Irish dancer! I live in New Franklin, Ohio with my husband and our five children. I am passionate about serving on the board for Moms on Target because the mission and vision are something that I can firmly stand behind 100%. We all are guilty of muttering words about raising children in “today’s world” with a negative connotation on the phrase. Partnering with Moms on Target gives me the opportunity to feel that I’m taking part in changing “today’s world”, giving it the positive connotation it deserves. Through this organization, moms have an opportunity to learn, grow, and just BE in a nonjudgmental and encouraging environment. I am so excited to continue to see God move in this area!
Fun fact: Watching Irish dance and listening to Irish music are two of my favorite things to do.

Nicole Willard
I’m a mom of two from Uniontown, OH. I’m passionate about MOT because of its mission to help ALL moms in this journey of motherhood. It truly takes a village to raise littles, and bigs, and I love that we can be that safe space for these women and their children as we all navigate through the hardships, trials, and celebrations, together.
Fun Fact: I am a High School Varsity Cheer Coach at my Alma Mater.

Melanie Montgomery, LISW-S
My family and I live in Akron, and I am a licensed independent social worker. I have worked in the child welfare field for the past 10 years, and I currently serve as the Director of Programming at Hope Bridge, a local faith-based non-profit.
I believe in the mission of Moms on Target and have seen firsthand working in social services, that when mothers are supported, equipped, and thriving in community, they are better able to meet the needs of their children—allowing generations to flourish. Our communities need safe places like the ones that MOT creates; spaces where mothers can form meaningful relationships and be strengthened through intentional community. I am honored to serve on the board of Moms On Target and witness all God is doing in and through this amazing organization!
Fun Fact: I am a mom to 7 children, 3 of whom were adopted from foster care.
